The University of New Mexico Benefits & Employee Wellness has several opportunities for the Lobo community to start the year on healthy foot. UNM employees are invited to join the New Mexico Weight Loss Jackpot Challenge or sign up for the LifeSteps Weight Management Program to bring focus to health in the new year.
The New Mexico Weight Loss Jackpot Challenge is a 12-week competition that encourages team work and getting healthier by losing 6 percent of a participant’s body weight. People can sign up in teams of four to nine or sign up individually and be paired with a team to compete. Every team that reaches the 6 percent weight loss goal earns a part of the prize jackpot. In the past, winners have earned about $175.
Register now for only $23.33 a month for three months ($70) and begin the challenge on Jan. 28. Click here to register for the New Mexico Weight Loss Jackpot Challenge.
If you are unable to sign up for the Jackpot Challenge or would like to take a less competitive route, UNM Employee Wellness is offering the LifeSteps Weight Management Program to faculty and staff fully online and at no cost to those who are benefits eligible.
The LifeSteps program offers a safe and supportive environment to take charge of your weight and health goals without the rules and restrictions of fad diets. Each week, participants will work on small changes leading to big results through guidance of a registered dietitian.
The program will begin on Feb. 14 and run for 12 weeks. Space is limited so sign up now to develop your own personal action plan to maximize your health success.
