Responsibilities:
• Generate sales lead/prospective-customer lists in the target industry and markets
• Create, develop and maintain referring relationships with medical practices and complementary wellness businesses
• Generate and maintain patient referrals to fill the pipeline for growing physical therapy, balance, and wellness practice according to individual and company goals
• Travel throughout assigned territory to solicit orders/referrals from regular and prospective customers
• Keep all customer and prospect information and sales activity up to date in an electronic database
• Successfully complete all company training and remain current on new products and services to effectively demonstrate and sell services
• Canvass customer orders within designated travel area
• Be available to assist customers by phone or in-person
• Use samples or company catalog to showcase products
• Attend trade shows, health fairs, or other wellness industry events
• Collaborate with company representatives to ensure accounts and marketing materials are current
• Maintain accurate and timely transactions/expense account reporting
• Look into and find resolutions to any customer complaints
• Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalog; attend trade shows
• Collaborate with practice owners and other colleagues to establish and optimize marketing strategy and activities to increase brand awareness and attract new customers
• Participate with direct mail program, assuring developed pieces are processed
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts
Required skills and qualifications:
• Highly professional in appearance, tone, and delivery and an effective communicator
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
• Related sales/customer service experience and training that equals 1+ year(s)
• Strong follow-through and results tracking to achieve measurable targets
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all job-related matters
• Sales/marketing-specific background or education with a focus on consultative selling
• Strong customer service skills, customer service driven, positive attitude
• Ability to interact with, support, and influence positively the behavior and activities of referring physicians, industry partners, wellness businesses, and staff/colleagues
• Exceptional active listening skills, proven ability to problem-solve issues discussed
• Polished public speaking/presenting skills to communicate with a variety of audiences, including those unfamiliar with physical therapy, balance, and wellness topics
• Ability to work independently and in a group setting, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, a sense of urgency, and analytical and intuitive skills
• Ability to use all necessary office equipment, faxes, copiers, etc
• Required to be proficient in Windows-based technologies (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Availability to travel within region 80% of work time
• Four-year college degree preferred
• Related sales/customer service experience and training that equals 1+ year(s)
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally within assigned territory
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical sales preferred but not required.
• At least one year of related experience and training (sales/customer service)
• Willing to travel within an assigned territory
• Exemplary communication and relationship building skills
• Strong written communication skills to maintain effective communications with clients and prospects
• Strong attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting
Compensation and benefits:
• Base salary: $60,000
• Unlimited incentive program with no cap
• Mileage reimbursement
