The Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Health and Wellness Center is not giving up mask requirements entirely, but its visitor policies will change after Gov. JB Pritzker announced last week Illinois would be lifting its indoor mask mandate.
The center announced in a news release that effective Monday, face coverings would no longer be required for vaccinated individuals when inside the fitness center. Unvaccinated individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
Face coverings will still be required in all clinical areas and when entering the facility.
“We will continue to review local, state, and national governmental guidelines and adapt our procedures accordingly,” the center said in a news release. “As always, your health, safety, and wellness are a top priority to us.”
The center is located at 626 Bethany Road in DeKalb.
