Majority of North American employees seeking financial wellness benefits, flexible work: survey
Eight in 10 (83 per cent) North American workers are looking for more non-health benefits from their employer, according to a survey by Ceridian HCM Inc.
The survey, which polled more than 3,000 workers in Canada and the U.S., found while 86 per cent said they have access to at least one type of non-health benefit, a third (32 per cent) said their benefits package doesn’t meet their needs.

A majority (82 per cent) said they’d be less likely to look for a new job if their current employer offered flexible work arrangements or additional financial wellness tools, such as on-demand pay. Nearly two-thirds (63 per cent) of respondents who don’t currently have access to on-demand pay indicated they would feel less stressed if their employer provided this benefit.
And among millennials and generation Z respondents, 82 per cent said they expect a current or future employer to play a role in supporting their financial security and well-being.
“As we enter the third year of the [coronavirus] pandemic, it’s clear many North Americans, especially the younger population, want employers to support their financial well-being,” said Seth Ross, Ceridian’s general manager of Dayforce Wallet and consumer services, in a press release. “The market is demanding that employers step up and begin offering modern benefits like on-demand pay to meet the needs of their workforce.”
