From supplements to her killer workout routine, here’s how she conquers the day.
Jennifer Aniston is truly a fashion, beauty, and wellness icon. Fans are always wondering what the 52-year-old eats in a day (she’s talked about trying intermittent fasting), workouts (we’ve heard she has quite the boxing routine), and her top hair products for a gorgeous mane.
In a new interview with Shape, The Morning Show star revealed some new secrets to her self-care and wellness routine that we can’t wait to try for ourselves. I mean, who wouldn’t want to emulate Aniston?
Though Aniston takes extra care of what she puts into her body, she wasn’t always as health-conscious as she is today.
“My mom was a real health fanatic. Growing up, it was no fun to come to my house because it was all cardboard-tasting foods,” Aniston told Shape. “When I moved out, my big rebellion was to stock my fridge with food that had taste–I bought every cereal I’d ever wanted and other crap. Eventually, I started to feel like crap. I went to a nutritionist and realized that my mom had been doing me a favor. I committed to being mindful of what I put into my body.”

Her biggest nutrition secret? Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (she was recently named the Chief Creative Officer of the brand). The actress can be seen all over her Instagram making collagen creamer coffee beverages, and she even shared her chocolate smoothie recipe that we think tastes just like our favorite milkshake.

But it’s not all protein shakes and avocados for the Friends star. Balance is the key to a healthy diet, and she allows herself the flexibility to eat foods that bring her joy. “But I treat myself occasionally,” she said. “Mexican food and a good chopped salad make me happy.”

While many of us grab our phones to check messages and emails soon as the alarm goes off, Aniston makes the effort to start her morning phone-free.
“Every morning, I walk and feed the dogs. Then I meditate, make my coffee, and journal or write a gratitude list. Only after that do I pull out my phone and allow emails and texts and all the busy business stuff into my brain,” she said in the interview.
Even after she’s allowed herself to take the time to check social media, Aniston knows it can affect her mental health and tries to consume other forms of media that bring her happiness.
“Social media and the news can be really toxic. I was watching way too much during the pandemic, begging for it to be something different, but nothing changed,” she said.
Instead, she listens to the Podcast SmartLess, which shares stories and experiences through, often very funny, conversation.
“Three of my friends–host Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett–and their chemistry is fantastic. I’d listen to them after filming The Morning Show, which has a lot of heavy material because it always puts a big smile on my face,” she said.
Whether it’s for overall health or a mental break, Aniston turns to her workouts and movement anytime she can. “If I have only five minutes, I’ll use them to move my body,” she said. “Jumping rope is a killer workout.”
“When my trainer, Leyon, whom I love more than life, handed me a jump rope for the first time, I said, ‘You’re out of your mind.’ I would dread doing it and would skip instead of jump over the rope. He kept saying, ‘No, try to do it correctly.’ It was so irritating. But within six months, my jumping became fluid. Now I can just go and go and go.”
Aniston isn’t the only star that loves to grab a jump rope for a quick heart-pumping workout. Actress Jennifer Garner has also posted to social media about loving jump rope and Candace Cameron Bure recently showed off her jump rope skills on Instagram.

The actress has luscious locks for days, and we’d point to her haircare for that. She recently launched the LoLavie hair care line which she regularly shares to her Instagram account. Even Friends co-star Courteney Cox has shared her love for the haircare line.
As for her glowing skin, she’s been known to use a hydrating rosewater face mist, which uses just two ingredients for a low-maintenance spritz perfect for most skin types.
Want more of her skincare secrets? Aniston turns to moisturizer and SPF to keep her skin hydrated and protected. She’s known to use Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion, ” data-vars-ga-product-id=”7e76f2bf-7a08-41a0-8a85-e641ca3ed632″ data-vars-ga-product-price=”0.00″ data-vars-ga-product-sem3-brand=”” data-vars-ga-product-sem3-category=”” data-vars-ga-product-sem3-id=”” data-affiliate-network='{“id”:”b89db8ac-7761-45d7-9541-9a05a07c9aa0″,”site_id”:”d55f98dc-cbd6-4679-ae11-243969f8c772″,”is_active”:true,”details”:null,”metadata”:[],”network”:{“id”:”469ce69f-4798-416d-9432-eaa9954b4053″,”name”:”Amazon”,”is_active”:true,”business_unit_id”:”ad046b46-538b-42cb-aa54-c3d158875ed6″,”details”:””,”metadata”:[],”created_at”:”2021-07-28T16:03:03.241365+00:00″,”last_updated_at”:”2021-07-28T16:03:03.241381+00:00″}}’ data-affiliate=”true”>Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Moisturizer, and the brand’s SPF.
