The 2021 Monash Partners & Equity Trustees funding grant has been awarded to Dr Paul Yeh. His work ‘Monitoring transcriptional evolution in acute myeloid leukaemia using circulating tumour DNA – the sniper essay’ will be supported over two years with approximately $186,000 of funding.
“Extremely grateful and honoured to have received funding to pursue this important research. Many thanks to Monash Partners and Equity Trustees for their support,” Dr Yeh said.
This research will pioneer a novel assay which harnesses circulating tumour DNA to monitor and understand acute leukaemia. He expects that the results of this research will provide unprecedented insights into leukaemia evolution by providing new opportunities for disease monitoring. This will lead to the development of new treatment strategies to improve leukaemia patient outcomes.
