The Community Health & Wellness 5k will take place on Sunday, April 24, beginning at the WVU Rec Center. There will also be an opportunity to participate in a community 2-mile walk and a kids fun run.
The options for registration will include pre-registration online or race day registration. We encourage participants to complete the online early bird registration ($5) by April 23. All race day registration will be $10. This fee will include the admission/participation fee. Our packet pickup and check-in process will begin at 1 p.m.
The Mountaineer will be signaling the start of the race at 2 p.m.! Our event will also include a health and wellness tabling event where different organizations from WVU and the community will come together to provide helpful information, some health services and refreshments!
Funds raised from the run will be used for scholarships for students primarily in Health Care and STEM majors at WVU.
The event sponsor, Health Sciences & Technology Academy (HSTA) is a program that was developed to help support and mentor underrepresented high school students in WV and help their transition to health sciences and STEM degree college programs. For questions, please contact Dr. Gregory Epps at [email protected].
