Heart Niagara is hosting a community picnic fundraiser in Niagara Falls to bring the community together for a social evening of food and live music.
“We know eating together is good for your heart, your happiness, and your health,” said Karen Stearne executive director at Heart Niagara.
“This picnic is a chance to celebrate how good it is to be together and share our food with friends.”
Picnic by the Brewhouse will be held Aug. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Blackburn Brew House.
Guests reserve a table — a table of eight is $150 — and they can bring their own food to the Blackburn Parkway site, or they can order a hospitality package in advance from the brewery.
For those who plan to bring their own food, Heart Niagara will be posting picnic recipes on its website and social media channels.
All funds raised from the event will support Heart Niagara’s Healthy Heart Schools’ program, which reaches more than 3,500 Niagara students each year.
For 45 years, the non-profit agency has been providing programs to local families through schools, community events, physician referral, AED placement, AED/CPR training, smoke cessation services, and health promotion education.
