Secretary Cardona Joins North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper for Visit to North Carolina Central University to Discuss the Importance of Mental Health and Wellness Services for Students – U.S. Department of Education

This week, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Durham, North Carolina, with Gov. Roy Cooper to speak with students at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) about the importance of mental health services and how the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) can be used to support these services for students nationwide. Secretary Cardona will participate in a briefing about health and wellness services at NCCU. Afterwards, he will join students for a roundtable discussion about supporting positive mental health outcomes for students.
A press gaggle will follow the roundtable discussion. In accordance with local guidelines, attendees and reporters are required to wear a mask while indoors.
