EUGENE, Ore. – Six Longhorns of the Texas track and field program advanced to the semifinals at the 2022 Outdoor USA Championships.
Crayton Carrozza began the day by running a personal-best 800m time of 1:46.64. The time is the fifth-fastest time ran in Texas history.

Kennedy Simon continued her impressive 400m season and advanced to the semis with her time of 52.42, finishing second in her heat to Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix. Simon is fresh off her bronze medal finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Willington Wright was the final current Longhorn to advance to a semifinal after running the fifth-fastest qualifying time in the 400m at 45.54.

Texas Ex and 6x All-American Ashley Spencer also advanced to the 400m hurdles semis with her time of 55.79.

Both All-Americans Teahna Daniels and Morolake Akinosun advanced to the 100m semis with times of 11.05 and 11.11, respectively.

Freshman Eva Jess finished fourth in the U20 Championships 5K with a personal-best time of 16:51.13.

In Jamaica, freshman standout Ackelia Smith won the Jamaica National Championship long jump competition with a jump of 6.56m. The mark is the fifth-best mark in program history.
