STONY BROOK, N.Y. — For the second time in program history, the Stony Brook women’s basketball team has received a vote in the USA TODAY/WBCA Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Seawolves had not received a vote in the poll since the 2019-20 season, when the team received a tally on Jan. 21, 2020, marking the first time in program history.
Stony Brook has made their mark on the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, holding consistent rankings within the top 10 this season. The Seawolves were ranked as high as seventh for two straight weeks in December. Stony Brook moved up into ninth this week after holding a tenth place ranking last week in the rankings.
The Seawolves currently hold a 17-2 (8-1 America East) record and have won their last eight conference games, the longest winning streak since they won 22 consecutive games during the 2019-20 season. Stony Brook is one of only six teams in the nation with 17 wins on the season.
