The city of West Covina will host its first health and wellness fair on Oct. 9 at the Sportsplex located at 2100 S. Azusa Avenue.
The event — from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — will include live entertainment, food trucks and prizes.
Available will be free health screenings for such things as blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass, vision, dental and more.
Low-cost health screenings will be available for cardiovascular risk assessment, EKG tracing, general blood screening for such things as anemia and cholesterol, cancer screening and more. Registration is required for these offerings by calling (English), (Spanish) or (Chinese).
There will also be health and education classes with healthy cooking demonstrations, a Zumba and exercise demonstration as well as CPR, disaster and personal safety training.
Walk-through health exhibits will also be on-hand in the form of the mega brain, heart, lung and colon.
