Wendy Williams is putting everything on hold to prioritize her health.
The 58-year-old TV personality has entered a wellness facility to manage her "overall health issues," according to her publicist Shawn Zanotti, per ET.
"She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast," the press release noted.
Zanotti continued: "Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time."
The statement did not elaborate on the specific health issues.
The daytime talk show queen was sidelined during the final season of The Wendy Williams Show—which ended in June after almost 14 years of air—due to health issues, including Graves' disease and lymphedema.
The final season continued instead with a rotating lineup of guest hosts like Leah Remini, Michael Rapaport, Whitney Cummings and Jerry Springer before a permanent replacement was found in Sherri Shepherd. Her own namesake show, Sherri, premiered earlier this week on Sept. 12 in Williams' previous time slot.
Following the conclusion of her longtime talk show, Williams teased the upcoming podcast, though no launch date has been announced. In August, fans expressed concern after she appeared disoriented in New York City, with many emphasizing her frail appearance. At the time, a spokesperson assured Yahoo that she was fine and preparing for a comeback.
In addition to many health concerns, Williams also dealt with personal issues over the last few years, including living in a sober home to battle addiction, a 2019 divorce from her husband of 22 years after he welcomed a child with another woman and the death of her mother in 2020. This past May—and against her wishes—she was assigned a financial guardian over her assets in a legal battle with Wells Fargo.
