Summit Pointe hosting mental health and wellness expo at YMCA – Battle Creek Enquirer

In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Summit Pointe is partnering with the Battle Creek YMCA and FireKeepers Casino to present a mental health and wellness expo on Wednesday.
The free event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Battle Creek YMCA at 182 Capital Ave. NE. Mental health and wellness professionals will be on site to help connect attendees with resources and there will be free food provided by FireKeepers. Activities include yoga, zumba, art with Jaziel Pugh and dance performances by Dance In Motion dance studio.
On May 24, the Bohm Theatre in Albion will screen “Coming Up For Air,” a 2019 dramatic film about the impact of mental health on families. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and question and answer session with Scott Teichmer, suicide prevention facilitator, Roger Rapoport, producer for the film, Jody May, Albion College men’s basketball coach and Milton Barnes, president and founder of Play Right Sports Academy.
