Shannon Bream, the current host of “Fox News @ Night,” will replace Chris Wallace as the anchor of “Fox News Sunday.”
Bream begins her new role Sept. 11, becoming the first woman to host the program in 26 years, and will continue to serve as Fox News Channel‘s chief legal correspondent.
Wallace previously hosted the program from 2006 to 2021, until he departed to host “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace” on the streamer CNN+, which shuttered April 30.
A rotating list of guest journalists will anchor “Fox News @ Night” until the network names Bream’s permanent replacement.
Bream said in a statement that she looks forward to her new opportunity with the network.
“It has been an honor to cover major news throughout Washington over the last 15 years at FOX News,” she said. “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to host a Sunday show and look forward to this new role.”
Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, said in a statement that Bream is “an outstanding journalist, reporter and anchor who has cultivated a strong and enduring relationship with the FOX News Media audience.”
Bream has hosted “Fox News @ Night” since 2017 and has also appeared on several of the network’s other programs, including “America Reports,” “The Faulkner Focus,” “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” “Outnumbered,” “Jesse Watters Primetime” and “Gutfeld!”

As the network’s chief legal correspondent, she has covered landmark Supreme Court decisions, including the court’s rulings on Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health Organization this year, nationwide same-sex marriage in 2015 and the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013.
Bream has also authored three books, including 2022’s “The Mothers and Daughters of the Bible Speak: Lessons on Faith from Nine Biblical Families,” which made USA TODAY’s Bestselling Books list.
