For the first time ever, Palomar Health will be presenting an exclusive, interactive two-day wellness festival that celebrates the importance of great healthcare in relation to life’s most enjoyable pleasures.

The Health Rocks Wellness Festival will debut October 8-9 from 11 a.m. to 5.p.m. each day at Palomar Health’s Escondido campus, which is located at 2185 Citracado Parkway in Escondido. Admission to the festival is free.

“The Health Rocks Festival will further Palomar Health’s mission to promote health within the community by making healthcare an approachable, desired and celebrated part of life,” said a release announcing the interactive festival. “Through the integration of health into everyday lifestyles, “healthcare will no longer be feared, but embraced because it will extend the quality of life, thus allowing one to enjoy life’s pleasures to the fullest.”

“Healthcare is a part of everyday life, whether you’re visiting the doctor often or not,” said Kristin Gaspar, president and CEO of Palomar Health Foundation.

“You can have fun and still be healthy, by approaching the things you do in a healthy way,” Gaspar added. “We want people to change their mindset to, ‘If I take care of myself, and make sure I have fun and enjoy life, my quality of life will be better, no matter what my age is.’”

During the two-day event, Palomar’s Escondido campus will be packed with live music, local food trucks and interactive activities.

Celebrity ninjas Jesse Labreck and Jonathan Horton from American Ninja Warrior are slated to host a custom ninja obstacle course, designed to allow the average person to compete safely.

Olympic gold medalists Ruthie Bolton and Laura Wilkinson are also scheduled to participate at the event, which will feature performances by the Marine Corps/Navy Bands and Color Guard.

The festival will also feature free health screenings, fitness and wellness classes and games/activities for children of all ages.
