ATHENS — One person was seriously injured in an accident late Thursday night on U.S. 33 near Ohio 374 in Hocking County, the Athens Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Arthur William Harris, 74, of Columbus was driving east in the westbound lanes of U.S. 33 in a 2016 Ford F-150 and struck a westbound 2017 Ford F-350 driven by Jamison Wynn Vance, 23, of Morgantown, Ind., the patrol said.
A passenger in Harris’ vehicle, Justin Maurice Harris, 34, of Whitehall, Ohio, suffered serious injuries and was taken by Hocking County EMS to the Hocking Valley Community Hospital where he was airlifted to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, the patrol said.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries, but were not transported from the scene, the patrol said.
The accident happened about 11:45 p.m., the patrol said. U.S. 33 was closed for about 30 minutes.
After the initial crash, multiple cars struck debris on the road, the patrol said.
The accident remains under investigation, the patrol said.
