Seattle University recently announced a collaboration with TimelyMD, the only student-first telehealth provider that offers a complete care solution for campus health.
By joining forces with TimelyMD, SU will take an important step forward in its ongoing dedication to student health and well-being, aligned with Reigniting Our Strategic Directions Goal 3: Enhance the Student Experience.
“Seattle University is committed to caring for our students and we know that student demand for health care and wellness services has greatly increased over the past several years,” says James Willette, associate vice president and dean of students in Student Development.
TimelyMD is an extension of a school’s student health program that provides care whenever and wherever students need it. “The pandemic has shown that there are many physical and mental health care needs that can be thoroughly addressed on a virtual platform and provide quality care,” says Tara Hicks, MN, ARNP, NP-C, director of the Student Health Center.
“The partnership with TimelyMD will integrate with the services provided by CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) and the SHC (Student Health Center), improving access to care, as well as providing other health and wellness services,” explains Hicks.
Hicks notes there are many barriers to health care including cost, scheduling convenience and appointment availability, to name a few. “SU has prioritized student health and wellness in our strategic directions. … Removing barriers to physical and mental health care are essential to optimizing campus health,” says Hicks.
Willette confirms that beginning this spring quarter, “SU students will be able to access high-quality, on-demand, student-focused medical and mental health support 24/7 with no out-of-pocket cost or insurance requirements.”
“This is a great new resource for our students and we are excited to partner with TimelyMD to deliver on our commitment to care for the whole person,” says Willette.
TimelyMD services offer complete care, including:
