HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — After being hit by a car and contracting Lyme Disease, Tammie Starnes grabbed ahold of her health and wellness. Now she is hoping to heal others at her new center Abundant Healing opening Saturday in Hillsborough.
“My passion has always been health, always been education and sharing the good stuff. And that’s what this whole center is about. Learning new things, learning new techniques, and learning how to manage your own health,” said Starnes.
Originally from Montana, Starnes moved to Belle Mead. Her life began to change at 23 years old when she contracted Lyme Disease and couldn’t turn her neck. She began going for massages and continue that for five years.
Her recovery prompted her to enroll in a massage school at the age of 28. The half way through schooling, she got hit by a car.
“It put me into chronic pain management as an interest,” said Starnes.
She went to work at a variety of facilities in the area including hospice care and with chiropractors.
When the COVID pandemic hit, it created a lot of stress for people. Starnes and her daughter decided to travel 7 hours away to Ohio to try the Harmonic Egg – a patented chamber created to promote mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual healing and wellness.
That was the closest location to Hillsborough.
“It helped both of us to calm down and be OK again. So I decided to bring it into Hillsborough,” said Starnes. “So if I was bringing the Egg then I might as well open this center.”
Starnes decided to open Abundant Healing at 311 Amwell Rd Suite 6 in Hillsborough and is hosting a grand opening on Saturday from noon to 4:20 p.m.
Abundant Healing offers a variety of services including therapeutic massages, Reiki with ancient instruments and crystals, Harmonic Egg, yoga, red light therapy, negative ionic foot soak, facials, and more.
Staff available to provide information on each service offered. Tours and giveaways will also be provided.
