Seems like the Knicks are trying hard to move up.
One of the ongoing bits of news, is in fact the non-news item that several NBA officials have confirmed that there are no major medical red flags to report related to the 2022 draft class. That is great to hear, but is also newsworthy in itself as a very rare event, indeed!
We try as hard as we can not to be part of the problem here at AS USA, but sometimes we have to hold our hands up and say that, in all honesty, we fell for a wild rumor, too.

2022 NBA Draft selection order: which teams pick first?
The Orlando Magic have the first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, which takes place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday 23 June.
The Magic secured the No. 1 selection earlier in June in the Draft Lottery, which determines the order of the top 14 picks. It is the first time Orlando have had the opening pick since 2004, when the Florida franchise chose Dwight Howard, a player who has gone on to become an eight-time All-Star.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets, the Sacramento Kings and the Detroit Pistons complete the top five in the 2022 Draft.

NBA draft sleepers: Get to know VCU wing Vince Williams Jr., a 3-and-D standout
VCU wing Vince Williams Jr. is one of the more enticing sleepers in the 2022 NBA draft. But he may not stay under the radar for much longer.
Williams is a senior who has already played four years of college basketball. But he will still be 21 years old on the night of the draft, which makes him younger than sophomore Keegan Murray, a projected lottery pick in this draft class.
Once you look into the statistical profile for Williams, it’s easy to see the appeal. Williams, who says his wingspan is nearly 7-foot, is the kind of role player who can have a high impact in the pros.

Jaden Ivey is another dark horse
Most mock drafts have him going top five, Jaden Ivey is another player who could fly up the pick order in the draft.

Jabari Smith Jr. is the name on everyone’s lips as we look ahead to the 2022 NBA Draft. He spent just one season playing for Auburn, but that’s all it took for the NBA to notice him. In February 2022, he recorded a season-high 31 points against Vanderbilt. He averaged 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and two assists per game with a field goal percentage of 42.9 and 3-point percentage of 42. At just 19 years old, he looks to be a rising star in the NBA. Paolo Bachero could be the number one pick.
Here is what CBS writer Matt Norlander had to say about him.
Banchero was the best freshman in college hoops last season, he led his team to the Final Four, he has an NBA-ready body, he has a litany of skills and is one of the best passing bigs in this year's draft. There has never been a moment over the past three-plus years where his skills didn't translate/project to being a wonderful combination of old-school mobile big and modern play-thru power forward. He is the most NBA-ready player in this draft. Be it in dribble pull-ups, using the post, rim-running, coming off screens, catch-and-shoots or on cuts, Banchero is capable of scoring in myriad ways. He's also got some touch around the rim that, combined with his physicality, makes him a tough matchup. The fullest package.

Everyone tends to agree that Auburn’s Jabari Smith Jr will go in the top five, most picking him to go first overall, but Gonzaga’s Chet Holmgren and Duke’s Paolo Banchero could just as easily pip him at the top spot.
