World number one Iga Swiatek has booked her place in the 2022 US Open final after defeating Aryna Sabalenka 3-6 6-1 6-4 on Thursday. 
Swiatek, who has never made it this far at Flushing Meadows, started her semi-final match against Sabalenka poorly and was broken three times. 
But the 21-year-old came out firing in the second set and overpowered her Russian opponent.
The third set was a see-sawing affair with Sabalenka claiming an early break before Swiatek finished stronger by winning four straight games.

Ons Jabeur now awaits Swiatek in the final on Saturday (local time) after beating Caroline Garcia 6-1 6-3 in their earlier semi-final. 
This will be both player’s second Grand Slam final appearance of 2022 with Swiatek winning the French Open and Jabeur losing at Wimbledon.
