Nearly 50 health, wellness and employment experts will fill Riverview Memorial Park in Tarentum on Saturday during a community fair.
Hosted by state Rep. Carrie DelRosso, the event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park along First Avenue.
Among the offerings will be:
• Health screenings;
• Information on state assistance programs;
• Damaged license plate renewals and handicapped license applications;
• Apprenticeship applications.
This is the second year that DelRosso has hosted the free event.
“Last year was such a success, and I can’t wait to see what this year’s event has in store,” she said.
DelRosso, current representative in the state 33rd House District, is seeking the lieutenant governor’s office in the General Election.
Hosting the event in the park creates a festival-like atmosphere, Tarentum Councilwoman Carrie Fox said. She said it was well-attended last year.
“We appreciate (her) doing this in Tarentum park,” Fox said. “Not only does it bring awareness of career opportunities and health information, it shows off our borough.”
Among the vendors represented at the fair will be the Alle-Kiski Health Foundation, Eureka Hose Fire-Rescue-EMS, Forbes Road Career and Technology Center, PA Careerlink and several trade unions.
Tarentum police will be on hand to help people replace damaged license plates. Anyone needing assistance should bring their license, registration and a photo of their damaged plate.
DelRosso thanked the businesses that are participating and said it’s a great way to make connections for the constituents of the district.
The community fair will take place rain or shine.
