Speaking after our 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, boss Jonas Eidevall reflected on our one club mentality and how our record-breaking attendance at Emirates Stadium is hopefully the first of many.
After the final whistle, Eidevall joined the team as they did a circuit of the Emirates pitch to thank our 53,737 fans. Speaking post-match, the boss said that the atmosphere was something to remember.
“Part of being in football is that you collect all those memories together with people that you really enjoy working with. Today was a special day for us and hopefully, it was the start of us playing in front of many people at the Emirates.”
As this is only the third season Tottenham have spent in the Women’s Super League, the North London rivalry is relatively fresh for both our women’s side and Eidevall himself. But that’s where our one club mentality comes into play.
“I think that’s where the community comes in. It’s what connects us, being here with the geography. And that’s the great thing about the football club. That it connects people. That we share the same dreams and the same motivations and we can share those experiences here together. I’m so happy we got to share this experience here today with so many Gunners fans.”
