Thirty Cleary Gottlieb lawyers, six practice groups, and two offices have been recognized in the 2023 edition of Benchmark Litigation USA.
The firm earned 18 “Local Litigation Star” rankings, 16 lawyers were named “National Practice Area Stars,” five lawyers were named “Litigation Stars,” five lawyers were named to the “40 & Under List,” four lawyers were named “Top 250 Women in Litigation,” three lawyers were ranked as “Future Stars,” and one lawyer was recognized as a “Top 100 Trial Lawyer.”
Cleary practice groups were ranked in the areas of Bankruptcy, Competition/Antitrust, Commercial, International Arbitration, Securities, and White-Collar Crime; and once again, the firm’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices were cited as “Highly Recommended.”
Benchmark Litigation notes that Cleary “stands out for its impressive global footprint – one of the most expansive in ‘big law,’ with more offices located outside the U.S. than within. Proudly bold in its international aspirations, its domestic-domiciled practitioners in New York and DC routinely attend to matters that cross borders … The firm excels in antitrust, white-collar and investigations work, securities, bankruptcy, commercial, and even some intellectual property, and, unsurprisingly, it is also known as being one of the dominant forces in the international arbitration arena.”
The guide recognizes law firms involved in high-profile and groundbreaking litigation from the past year. Research is conducted through extensive interviews with litigators, dispute resolution specialists, and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms.
