TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – The Chuck Huckelberry Loop has once again been nominated for USA Today’s best recreational trail in the nation, Pima County officials announced on Wednesday, March 23.
According to a news release, The Loop was nominated by experts from USA Today, the 10best.com, expert contributors and other media sources. The Loop took the highest honors last year and county officials said they hope to continue the streak.
The loop is the longest public recreation, multi-use path in the US at 136 miles. It extends through Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, South Tucson and unincorporated parts of Pima County and connects the Rillito, Santa Cruz and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Road Greenways.
The Loop is commonly used by runners, walkers, cyclists and equestrians and is a major attraction for visitors to the area.
