WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Beaufort County Community College is finding ways to address mental and physical health.
BCCC creates short videos that get released every Wednesday to help the campus community both physically and mentally. The videos were originally launched to help cope during the coronavirus pandemic, but BCCC says they expect to continue releasing wellness videos, making it a part of the campus community long term.
“Some of the things that we’ve been focusing on are, for example, I did an episode last week about Black History Month, and that the theme this year is Black health and wellness. So some of those little tips or tricks would be just to focus on making sure that we are getting our annual or yearly physicals and we’re visiting our primary care physicians and practicing some mindfulness or meditation,” says Jamie Cohick, a counselor at Beaufort County Community College.

(NEXSTAR) – A former communications director for the state of Georgia faces charges after she allegedly used a fake pregnant stomach as part of a paid leave scheme.
Robin Folsom, 43, of Atlanta, was indicted last week on three counts of false statements and one count of identity fraud after she allegedly falsified multiple pregnancies.
What started off as a normal day for Megan Condry, ended with a science experiment. Condry shared a post to her Facebook wall shocked at the condition of a McDonald’s burger she purchased five years ago.
She says she purchased the burger on Nov. 2, 2017 for lunch on her way to work and forgot about the burger. She found the burger five days after she purchased it in her backseat and decided to keep it.
(NEXSTAR) – The cost of Amazon Prime will be changing Friday for new subscribers.
Along with groceries, cars, gas and so many other things, the subscription cost will be rising for all Prime members this year – the annual cost will jump from $119 to $139 and the monthly rate from $12.99 to $14.99, the company announced Feb. 3 as part of its earnings report.
