Aptiva Health, a Louisville-based multi-specialty medical group, has opened a new east end specialty clinic and started a new division.
The new location, 10100 Linn Station Road, is on the first floor of the Delta Dental building, following Aptiva’s partnership with the company. Delta Dental covers the cost of its employees’ health plans with Aptiva.
The partnership was in the works for about 18 months, said Eric Lowe, Aptiva Health’s CEO. Lowe was recently named on our Forty under 40 list.
The facility will also include physical therapy as well as other specialty clinics like orthopedics.
Aptiva’s total investment costs in the project were between $250,000 to $300,000.
The 3,000-square-foot clinic opened for patients on Wednesday. An adjacent section of the space which includes physical therapy and X-ray machinery is about 500 square feet.
Aptiva’s new wellness department operates on a subscription model. One plan is “concierge medicine,” which includes both primary and urgent care with a direct line to their physician to text or call with questions. Another model includes weight loss, hormone replacement and anti-aging vitamins and supplements. There are also all-encompassing plans and a corporate wellness model.
“Our entire foundation is based on patient experience and treatment and really making affordable and convenient care and putting the patient first, with their experience not just their treatment,” Lowe said.
Parent company Aptiva Health, however, operates by accepting almost all insurance except Medicaid, Lowe said.
Both a clinic and the Wellness Center will be housed in the same building but are different entities.
In February, Aptiva expects to open its Concussion and Sports Injury Institute next to its existing campus on Newburg Road. The center will be 8,000 square feet and include a hard-shell hyperbaric chamber to treat brain injuries as well as space for physical therapy and clinics with X-ray capabilities. The project is expected to be about $2 million.
All told, Aptiva employs about 70 people. The addition of the two new centers has created about 20 new jobs. Lowe declined to share Aptiva’s total revenue to date.
Since Aptiva’s inception, it has treated about 25,000 patients. The new wellness program is accepting new patients and has room for up to 1,000.
