Man shot in leg during dispute at Destiny USA: A man was shot in the leg Monday during an argument with another man on the top level of a Destiny USA parking garage near Macy’s, Syracuse police said. The wounded man drove himself to Upstate University Hospital, Malinowski said. His injuries are not life-threatening. The mall was crowded with holiday shoppers when the man was shot, but was not evacuated or closed after the shooting.

Nine more Covid deaths in Onondaga County: Nine Onondaga County residents died of Covid over the weekend, while hospitalizations remained relatively stable and well below last year’s numbers. The county confirmed 929 new cases of Covid- on Saturday, Sunday and Monday combined, urging residents who have been fully vaccinated to get their booster shots.
NY’s top health official tests positive for Covid: Acting New York state Health Commissioner Mary Bassett tested positive for a breakthrough Covid case, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Monday. Hochul also outlined a winter Covid surge plan, including getting 10 million more at-home tests into the hands of New Yorkers and providing $65 million to local governments to help enforce Hochul’s mask mandates.
