Breast Cancer Awareness Month is being observed under the theme, ‘Celebrating Life.’
It is a time to show support for everyone affected by breast cancer and raise awareness of breast cancer and fund research into its causes, treatment, and cure.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness says that from October 18 to October 30, 2022, it will host a series of activities to raise awareness.
The Ministry encourages those affected and fighting this illness to take part in the activities and help to continue to raise awareness.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Statistics show that in Belize, for the year 2020, 312 persons were diagnosed with breast cancer.
